ART Curriculum

My mission is to develop an essential understanding of Art and Visual Culture in the students.

I want the students at Owen Elementary to understand:  *Art as a personal Expression, Reflection, and response; *Art as an Awareness of Diversity and Culture; Art as a record of history; Art as an avenue for Aesthetic Awareness; Art as development of Creativity and Problem-Solving; Art as a form of Communication.

During their practice of art, students will also learn how to use tools and media in a safe and responsible manner, develop small motor skills, and eye hand coordination through a variety of hands-on activities.

Supplies:  An old shirt to cover school clothes while creating ART!!
